Federally registered apprenticeship in a number of construction trades. These joint programs have a laid off apprentice pool and a qualified applicants pool to meet your workforce needs. In addition to our joint programs, we offer independent programs for residential wireman and linemen. Fees apply


ONLINE PLAN SERVICE

The walk-in service is free with membership. The ABC Online Plan Service provides features to distribute plans that is provided by no other service, and can provide all the services of a conventional plans service at the tip of your fingers from the comfort of your office for a nominal fee. Best of all, it costs hundreds of dollars LESS!!


NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Membership Meetings
ABC of Alaska holds regular membership meetings where members and their guests are provided with information on topics they request. This is an excellent opportunity to create strategic relationships with other contractors and many of our members have expanded their business relationships through regular attendance at ABC functions.

LEGAL RESOURCES

ABC Legal Counsel
The Chapter Attorney - Turner & Mede, P.C. - will provide one free consultation per specific labor issue affecting our members. Each year, the chapter attorney conducts a labor law seminar for our members, keeping your team current on labor law issues. An attorney is also available at general meetings for consultation with member firms.


Labor Relations and Information
Keep current on the do's and don'ts of labor relations with ABC's pocket guides for supervisors and get more in depth information through available literature.

Free Enterprise Alliance
The FEA is a proactive, legislative initiative dedicated to issue advocacy and the education of ABC members.

The contractor search directory is a national online registry of ABC member companies that is promoted through major industry publications. Several ABC of Alaska member companies have won bids through ABC referrals, recapturing their dues investment in the process. Referral of members is also accomplished on the local level through our database referral system.

Many ABC members offer CEU’s for their training. To provide you with a one-stop shop for your CEU needs please contact the ABC office.

National Safety Excellence Award
ABC National awards to our members with outstanding safety programs and safety record based on current year STEP applications and an interview.

Environmental Procedures and Safety Training from ABC Members:

Environmental Management Inc. (EMI) 
EMI provides environmental procedures and safety training classes at their facilities in Anchorage, as well as on location throughout the state of Alaska and other areas.

Northern Industrial Training, LLC (NIT)
NIT is a vocational school emphasizing programs in professional truck driver, heavy equipment, NCCER construction building trades, NCCER oil & gas pipeline, hazardous materials, and mine safety training programs.


 

 Associated Builders and Contractors of Alaska is dedicated to providing cost-effective training opportunities that meet the needs of our members and enhance their skills, knowledge, and competencies. Associated Builders and Contractors of Alaska has partnered with Lorman Education Services to provide continuing education in a variety of topic areas.
